Guilt, Guilt, Guilt
That's what I have had for the last week...G-U-I-L-T!! The youngest went to the doctor for a possible ear infection last week and was then sent to radiology due to a "mass" in his stomach. Well, luckily, as my friend R put it...It was just a little shit for a whole lotta stress. He had constipation, not cancer. Easily fixed and now his is right as rain.
So, why do I feel guilty for all of the kids and parents who's doctor came to them with different news? I can't fix it, I can't change it...
I'm sorry. I'm sorry to every parent out there who has heard or will hear that their child has cancer, and that their lives will change forever. I'm sorry that for all the bad things I've done in my life, that I'm sure you have not, and that despite that my child is healthy and yours is not. I'm sorry for your pain, and for your suffering. Although you are a faceless entity to me know that I cry for you, and that I think every day how to make small changes and do big things to change the possible outcome for you.

Since we're talking about it
I think the theme this week will be motivation. I look like a fat ass in the above picture, but at least I'm a fat ass who finished her first 8K. I'm sure everyone around me is tired of hearing about it, to that I say...tough cookies :) I LOVED it, it was fun and I can't wait to do it again!!
Speaking of doing it again...I think I'm going to run the Christmas Town Dash 8K, the day after the parade...then I'll take a few days off to be able to feel my legs again :) But, it's a cool medal, and I like the bling! AND mostly I like how I feel for DAYS after the race!

Say Hello To My Pretty Friend
My pretty friend above is called....MOTIVATION! It took a little while to re-find, and it's taking some time to stick with but it's been found again!!
This weekend I ran my first 8K, in fact, it was the first time I ran over 5 miles EVER! And...it wasn't really that hard, which was surprising. I didn't come in first...and I didn't come in last. I averaged about a 13 minute mile and finished in 1:05:53, which is better then the 1:15 I was aiming for so...Kudos to me :)
Now, my enabler is trying to talk me into an 8K the day after the Christmas Parade, in Williamsburg, starting at 7:00. Bet I do it :)

Would You Like Some Cheese With That Wine??
Man, have I become whiny lately, really, really, really annoyingly whiny. Maybe that's why I drink so much wine...well, whiskey really, but who's being specific??
This weekend Jason and I are going away to the beach, just us..surprising I know. I hope to put our marriage, and our lives back on track with some good old fashioned....cooking...in the kitchen...don't be dirty! I picture us cooking meals together, while sipping wine and listening to a nice mix of James Taylor, Adele and Jack Johnson, what I bet really happens is I cook and drink, while he watches TV :) BUT I'm going to be positive, and stick with my vision!
The plan is to blog, almost, every day about why I should STOP whining and become the thirty.... year old I really am. Which is kind of sad, it's fun not being an adult, until you pull your head out of the sand, and then it's not so much fun anymore.
So, here's to hoping the new blog is less whiny then the old one!
